Measurements

Neck*
  1. Measure around your neck at it's widest point.
  2. This should be where your buttoned shirt collar would sit.
  3. Leave room for one finger between the neck and the tape.
Sleeve Length*
  1. Relax your arm by your side.
  2. Measure from the top edge of your shoulder (usually where the seams intersect/meet (T-SEAM) on your shirt).
  3. Have the tape follow down your arm towards the back of the elbow.
  4. Use the elbow to anchor the tape. Continue to measure down the back of the arm to the wrist or watch-line (where your shirt cuff naturally sits when buttoned).
  5. Ensure the measuring tape remains in contact with your arm at all times.
Chest*
  1. Lift your arms out to the side and ensure the tape goes right under the armpits before dropping the arms.
  2. Relax and do not puff out your chest.
  3. Measure around the widest part of your chest while ensuring the tape also covers the widest part of the back and does not slip down the lats.
  4. The tape should be level all the way around and usually crosses just above the nipples.
  5. Leave room for one finger between the chest and the tape – the tape should not restrict normal breathing.
  6. Please double-check this important measurement.

  2. Relax and do not suck in your stomach.
  3. Measure around your waistband (at the point where you dress trouser would usually sit).
  4. Leave room for one finger between the waist and the tape.

  1. Measure around the widest part of your thigh.
  2. Usually, this is at the highest point under the pant/trouser crotch.
  3. It helps to angle the tape slightly upwards while measuring.
  4. Ensure the tape does not slip down at the back of the leg
  5. Leave room for one finger between the thigh and the tape.
Outside Leg*
  1. It is best to take this measurement barefoot.
  2. Stand straight and look forward not down.
  3. Measure from the top of your waistband (underpants elastic) along and down the outside of your leg to the floor.
  4. Ensure the tape is held firm, straight and follows the outer & middle line of your leg.

  2. Measure from the point where the shoulder seam meets the armhole seam.
  3. Have the tape follow down the middle of the sleeve to the end of the cuff.
  4. Ensure the tape is held firm, straight and falls flat along the fabric.
Trouser Half Waistband
  1. Lay the trouser flat and buttoned up.
  2. Measure from edge to edge of the waistband by extending the tape along the lower seam of the waistband.
  3. Ensure that you follow the contour of the seam, the trouser is flat, and that the tape follows along the fabric.

  1. Lay the trouser sideways and flat.
  2. Fold one trouser leg up to expose the crotch and inseam.
