A weekend getaway- a perfect opportunity to relax and unwind, explore a new or familiar place and consume a significantly larger amount of food and drink than usual. All of this comes with the added bonus of not bumping into people you know and forcibly engaging in painful small talk whilst nursing your food coma from the aforementioned feasting.
2 Shirts
First things first, the essentials. All you need is two nice shirts. A dress shirt and a T-shirt. An easy night-time option is to grab a white dress shirt so that you know it goes with anything. This will cover you for wine tastings, candle-lit dinners, and any other activity that requires a bit of effort in your appearance. A T-shirt is another go-to. Perfect for the plane or car journey in and any casual day activities, just throw on a jacket and your good to head out the door.
Dark Jeans
If you’re short on space, a nice pair of dark jeans can cover you for the entire weekend. Can be dressed up with your dress shirt or down with a t-shirt. Black jeans go with any colours so they require minimal effort when planning outfits. Comfy yet stylish the perfect pair of dark jeans will be your best friend on your winter weekend getaway.
A Jacket
If your heading to a cold climate you will want to stay warm but not compromise on style. The right jacket or coat for you will depend on your personal style. However, you can’t go wrong with a double-breasted coat in black or grey as a stylish and sophisticated option. A little more casual option could be a black or blue denim jacket which can be styled to suit any occasion.
Shoes
A trusty pair of brown oxfords are a no-brainer when going away for the weekend. Comfortable and classy and can be coordinated with any outfit. Save on space in your bag by wearing them on the journey there. A pair of leather boots are also an option if you want something a little more casual but that can still be dressed up.
A Hat
Depending on your destination of choice, a hat will be an essential addition to your bag for different reasons, depending on the weather. If your winter destination is expected to be cold, throw in a beanie in a neutral colour to keep you warm and stylish on your trip. If your heading somewhere sunny, a cap will not only keep your head warm but also protect you from the sun.
